Why Fuselo exists
I started Fuselo as a traveller, not a hotelier. Stays in the world’s best hotels taught me how much of a great trip is quietly decided before you arrive: the room you’re given, the table you’re offered, the welcome that’s waiting.
Having children sharpened that instinct. A beautiful hotel suddenly isn’t enough. It has to genuinely work for everyone you’re travelling with, down to the details most websites never mention. I learned to be far more selective, and to ask the questions that actually matter.
Friends kept asking me to plan their stays, and Fuselo grew out of that. Today I work with travellers using named preferred-partner programmes to secure the upgrades, credits and recognition that turn a good hotel into a great one. I never charge a fee to book a hotel.
About the name
Fuselo is the Portuguese name for the bar-tailed godwit, the bird that holds the record for the longest non-stop flight of any animal. In 2022 a single godwit flew 13,560 km from Alaska to Tasmania in just over eleven days, without landing once.
The name was chosen because that journey is all navigation: an unshowy bird covering an extraordinary distance with complete precision, arriving exactly where it intended. That is the work. To know the route so you don’t have to, and to get you there beautifully.
